Sussex Skyhawks, The New Jersey Cardinals Replacement

Beginning with the 2006 baseball season, the vacancy left by the New Jersey Cardinals in Augusta, New Jersey, was replaced by a new expansion team called the Sussex Skyhawks. The Skyhawks played in the Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball, a independent baseball league. The Sussex Skyhawks folded after the 2010 season, leaving Skylands Park vacant for the first time in the stadium's history. It is uncertain if the Skyhawks would return in 2012.
