New England Revolution - Colors and Badge

Colors and Badge

The club badge is stylized, based on the flag of the United States with some of the stars made into a soccer ball (similar to Adidas' ball for the UEFA Champions League). The overall design mirrors the 1994 FIFA World Cup logo.

The home kit is navy, and the away white, both with red detail. Therefore the colors are the same as the national team of the United States. This is also consistent with their sister team, the National Football League's New England Patriots (also owned by Kraft and playing in the same stadium). In 2011, the Revolution announced that United Health Care would be their jersey sponsor; its logo is on the home and away jerseys.

Famous quotes containing the words colors and, colors and/or badge:

One wonders that the tithing-men and fathers of the town are not out to see what the trees mean by their high colors and exuberance of spirits, fearing that some mischief is brewing. I do not see what the Puritans did at this season, when the maples blaze out in scarlet. They certainly could not have worshiped in groves then. Perhaps that is what they built meeting-houses and fenced them round with horse-sheds for.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Color is my day-long obsession, joy and torment. To such an extent indeed that one day, finding myself at the deathbed of a woman who had been and still was very dear to me, I caught myself in the act of focusing on her temples and automatically analyzing the succession of appropriately graded colors which death was imposing on her motionless face.
    Claude Monet (1840–1926)

Repose and cheerfulness are the badge of the gentleman,—repose in energy.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
