Administrative Divisions

New Britain forms part of the Islands Region, one of four regions of Papua New Guinea. It comprises the mainland of two provinces:

  • East New Britain with headquarters in Kokopo (formerly Rabaul)
  • West New Britain with headquarters in Kimbe
