Neptune Theatre

The Neptune Theatre, built in 1913, is one of many theatres in Liverpool, England. It has been threatened with closure several times, but reopened in May 2012 after a £1.2m refurbishment. It has now been renamed the Epstein Theatre, in honour of Brian Epstein, the manager of The Beatles. The theatre seats 445 on its two levels.

Famous quotes containing the words neptune and/or theatre:

But we are spirits of another sort.
I with the morning’s love have oft made sport,
And like a forester the groves may tread
Even till the eastern gate, all fiery-red,
Opening on Neptune with fair blessèd beams,
Turns unto yellow gold his salt green streams.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

For the theatre one needs long arms; it is better to have them too long than too short. An artiste with short arms can never, never make a fine gesture.
    Sarah Bernhardt (1844–1923)
