Interest Groups
NSPE offers seven, practice-oriented engineering interest groups to their members. The groups provide networking, leadership skills, input on products and services, and recognition of leading engineers. Each group also offers their own electronic newsletter. The NSPE interest groups are:
- Professional Engineers in Construction (PEC);
- Professional Engineers in Higher Education (PEHE);
- Professional Engineers in Government (PEG);
- Professional Engineers in Industry (PEI);
- Professional Engineers in Private Practice (PEPP);
- Young Engineers; and
- Students.

Famous quotes containing the words interest groups, interest and/or groups:
“Instead of seeing society as a collection of clearly defined “interest groups,” society must be reconceptualized as a complex network of groups of interacting individuals whose membership and communication patterns are seldom confined to one such group alone.”
—Diana Crane (b. 1933)
“The interest in Wisdom is fading. Soon there will not be enough left to support the aphorism, even though it tries to amuse by half-mocking the Wisdom it propounds.”
—Mason Cooley (b. 1927)
“In America every woman has her set of girl-friends; some are cousins, the rest are gained at school. These form a permanent committee who sit on each other’s affairs, who “come out” together, marry and divorce together, and who end as those groups of bustling, heartless well-informed club-women who govern society. Against them the Couple of Ehepaar is helpless and Man in their eyes but a biological interlude.”
—Cyril Connolly (1903–1974)
