Future
In the March 2011 Budget, Chancellor George Osborne announced that the Government would consult on merging the operation of Income Tax and National Insurance.
The idea is to simplify the tax system, but the options to be considered do not include extension of NI contributions to other forms of income such as pensions, dividends and savings.
