2008 Summer Olympics
At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing Folkard finished her ranking round with a total of 651 points. This gave her the 8th seed for the final competition bracket in which she faced Soha Abed Elaal in the first round, beating the archer from Egypt with 107-95. In the second round she overtook team mate Charlotte Burgess with a score of 110-96, but in the third round she was eliminated by Nami Hayakawa from Japan, 106-97
Together with Alison Williamson and Charlotte Burgess she also took part in the team event. With her 651 score from the ranking round combined with another 651 of Williamson and the 623 of Burgess the British team was in second position after the ranking round, which gave them a straight seed into the quarter finals. With 201-196 they were too strong for the Japanese team. In the semi final against China they scored 202 points with the Chinese scoring 208, missing out on the final. They were unable to recover in the bronze medal match and lost against France 203-201 to miss out on the medals.
