Death

Nadezhda von Meck died from tuberculosis on January 13, 1894 in Nice, France. This was barely two months after Tchaikovsky's demise.

After her mother-in-law's passing, Anna von Meck was asked how the late patroness had endured Tchaikovsky's death. Anna replied, "She did not endure it."
