Reformation and Post Reformation View
Nadab and Abihu were in a great position to become honorable and respected priests. If Nadab and Abihu’s deed had been done through ignorance, they may have been allowed to bring a sin-offering. But instead they did it presumptuously, and in contempt of God's majesty and justice. They were therefore cut off, for the wages of sin is death. Famous quotes containing the words reformation, post and/or view:
“Go on then in doing with your pen what in other times was done with the sword; shew that reformation is more practicable by operating on the mind than on the body of man.”
—Thomas Jefferson (17431826)
“Fear death?to feel the fog in my throat,
The mist in my face,
When the snows begin, and the blasts denote
I am nearing the place,
The power of the night, the press of the storm,
The post of the foe;
Where he stands, the Arch Fear in a visible form,
Yet the strong man must go:”
—Robert Browning (18121889)
“My tendency to nervousness in my younger days, in view of the fact of a number of near relatives on both my fathers and mothers side of the house having become insane, gave some serious uneasiness. I made up my mind to overcome it.... In the cross-examination of witnesses before a crowded court-house ... I soon found I could control myself even in the worst of testing cases. Finally, in battle.”
—Rutherford Birchard Hayes (18221893)
