Examples of antagonists of the NMDA receptor are APV, Amantadine, dextromethorphan (DXM), ketamine, phencyclidine (PCP), riluzole, memantine, and kynurenic acid; the latter is the only known endogenous antagonist. They are commonly referred to as NMDA receptor antagonists.
