Myelencephalon
The myelencephalon is a subdivision of the brain used to describe the area that gives way to development of the medulla oblongata. Located in the hindbrain, the medulla oblongata is the final portion of the brain on the way to the spinal cord. Medulla gives way to sensorymotor and autonomic responses.
