Multichannel Television Sound - MTS Real World Performance

MTS Real World Performance

  • In ideal circumstances MTS Stereo is about 1.5 db better in performance than standard VHF FM stereo.
  • Usually with MTS, as with VHF FM stereo, a certain amount of crosstalk is encountered, limiting stereo separation.

The stereo information is dbx-encoded to increase the signal-to-noise ratio (at low levels), to aid in noise reduction.

Famous quotes containing the words real, world and/or performance:

Culture is a sham if it is only a sort of Gothic front put on an iron building—like Tower Bridge—or a classical front put on a steel frame—like the Daily Telegraph building in Fleet Street. Culture, if it is to be a real thing and a holy thing, must be the product of what we actually do for a living—not something added, like sugar on a pill.
    Eric Gill (1882–1940)

As the family goes, so goes the nation and so goes the whole world in which we live.
John Paul II [Karol Wojtyla] (b. 1920)

True balance requires assigning realistic performance expectations to each of our roles. True balance requires us to acknowledge that our performance in some areas is more important than in others. True balance demands that we determine what accomplishments give us honest satisfaction as well as what failures cause us intolerable grief.
    Melinda M. Marshall (20th century)
