Moody Bible Institute - Auxiliary Programs

Auxiliary Programs

Moody encompasses several programs in addition to the educational programs. Among them are Moody Radio and Moody Publishers. In 1894, Moody Publishers was founded under the name Bible Institute Colportage Association. This publishing house publishes books targeted at Christians and non-Christians. In 1926 the Institute expanded its reach beyond education and publishing by sponsoring the first non-commercial Christian radio station in America, WMBI. Over time, MBI’s radio outreach grew to the Moody Broadcasting Network, which now owns and operates 35 commercial-free stations and provides programming via satellite to more than 700 outlets.

The former Moody magazine ceased publication and the aviation program was halted in 2003 as part of a larger restructuring of Moody in an effort to buttress the institution's core education mission.

Famous quotes containing the word programs:

We attempt to remember our collective American childhood, the way it was, but what we often remember is a combination of real past, pieces reshaped by bitterness and love, and, of course, the video past—the portrayals of family life on such television programs as “Leave it to Beaver” and “Father Knows Best” and all the rest.
    Richard Louv (20th century)
