Millers River

The Millers River is a 52.1-mile-long (83.8 km) river in northern Massachusetts, originating in Ashburnham and joining the Connecticut River just downstream from Millers Falls, Massachusetts. The river was formerly known as Paquag or Baquag, a Nipmuc word meaning "clear water."

Sections of the river are used for whitewater kayaking, and a section upriver is popular with flatwater racers (canoe racing).

Famous quotes containing the words millers and/or river:

    “There are no millers any more,”
    Was all that she had heard him say:
    And he had lingered at the door
    So long that it seemed yesterday.
    Edwin Arlington Robinson (1869–1935)

    Ask me no more: thy fate and mine are sealed;
    I strove against the stream and all in vain;
    Let the great river take me to the main.
    No more, dear love, for at a touch I yield;
    Ask me no more.
    Alfred Tennyson (1809–1892)
