Mexican Navy - Organization

Organization

The President of Mexico is commander in chief of all military forces. Day-to-day control of the Navy lies with the Navy Secretary, currently Mariano Francisco Saynez Mendoza. In Mexico there is no joint forces command structure with the army, so the Secretary reports directly to the President. The Navy has a General Headquarters and three naval forces. There are furthermore 7 regions, 13 zones, and 14 naval sectors.

The Navy is divided into three main services designated as "forces":

  • Gulf and Caribbean Sea Naval Force
  • Pacific Naval Force
  • Naval Infantry Force

Other notable services include:

  • Naval Aviation (Naval Aviation)
  • Search and Rescue

Officers are trained at the Mexican Naval Academy, called the "Heroica Escuela Naval Militar" ("Heroic Military Naval School"), located in Antón Lizardo, Veracruz.

Famous quotes containing the word organization:

The newly-formed clothing unions are ready to welcome her; but woman shrinks back from organization, Heaven knows why! It is perhaps because in organization one find the truest freedom, and woman has been a slave too long to know what freedom means.
    Katharine Pearson Woods (1853–1923)

To fight oppression, and to work as best we can for a sane organization of society, we do not have to abandon the state of mind of freedom. If we do that we are letting the same thuggery in by the back door that we are fighting off in front of the house.
    John Dos Passos (1896–1970)

The methods by which a trade union can alone act, are necessarily destructive; its organization is necessarily tyrannical.
    Henry George (1839–1897)
