Metro Vancouver - Livable Region Strategic Plan

Livable Region Strategic Plan

The Livable Region Strategic Plan, LRSP, is the regional growth plan for Metro Vancouver, formerly known as Greater Vancouver. The GVRD Board of Directors adopted it in January, 1996 to be a “framework for making regional land use and transportation decisions in partnership with the GVRD’s member municipalities, the provincial government, and other agencies”. The LRSP’s goals were created from the “Creating our Future”, a plan for long-term development incorporating the results of consultations within the community.

Famous quotes containing the words livable, region, strategic and/or plan:

If I tell you that I would be disobeying the god and on that account it is impossible for me to keep quiet, you won’t be persuaded by me, taking it that I am ironizing. And if I tell you that it is the greatest good for a human being to have discussions every day about virtue and the other things you hear me talking about, examining myself and others, and that the unexamined life is not livable for a human being, you will be even less persuaded.
    Socrates (469–399 B.C.)

I was with Hercules and Cadmus once,
When in a wood of Crete they bayed the bear
With hounds of Sparta: never did I hear
Such gallant chiding; for besides the groves,
The skies, the fountains, every region near
Seemed all one mutual cry. I never heard
So musical a discord, such sweet thunder.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

The practice of S/M is the creation of pleasure.... And that’s why S/M is really a subculture. It’s a process of invention. S/M is the use of a strategic relationship as a source of pleasure.
    Michel Foucault (1926–1984)

I have always thought that one man of tolerable abilities may work great changes, and accomplish great affairs among mankind, if he first forms a good plan, and, cutting off all amusements or other employments that would divert his attention, make the execution of that same plan his sole study and business.
    Benjamin Franklin (1706–1790)
