Issue of The Social Classes
At Rome, the plebeians were insisting about the dyad of Consuls. The patricians kept refusing uncompromisingly and, again, they sought protection behind Camillus' figure. The populists attempted to arrest Camillus but, timely, he convoked a Senate session, during which he convinced the assembly effectively for the satisfaction of the popular demand, through the Lex Licinia Sextia (367 BC).
The creation of the new plebeian magistracy ensued in general celebrations. Camillus ordered the construction of the Temple of Concord, which would be emplaced beside the Roman Forum.

Famous quotes containing the words issue of, issue, social and/or classes:
“I would wish that the women of our country could embrace ... [the responsibilities] of citizenship as peculiarly their own. If they could apply their higher sense of service and responsibility, their freshness of enthusiasm, their capacity for organization to this problem, it would become, as it should become, an issue of profound patriotism. The whole plane of political life would be lifted.”
—Herbert Hoover (18741964)
“I cannot wish the fault undone, the issue of it being so proper.”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
“Lying increases the creative faculties, expands the ego, lessens the friction of social contacts.... It is only in lies, wholeheartedly and bravely told, that human nature attains through words and speech the forebearance, the nobility, the romance, the idealism, thatbeing what it isit falls so short of in fact and in deed.”
—Clare Boothe Luce (19031987)
“The difference between people isnt in their class, but in themselves. Only from the middle classes one gets ideas, and from the common peoplelife itself, warmth. You feel their hates and loves.”
—D.H. (David Herbert)
