Famous quotes containing the word birth:

At birth man is offered only one choice—the choice of his death. But if this choice is governed by distaste for his own existence, his life will never have been more than meaningless.
    Jean-Pierre Melville (1917–1973)

The condition that gives birth to a rule is not the same as the condition to which the rule gives birth.
    Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900)

Sin their conception, their birth weeping,
Their life a general mist of error,
Their death a hideous storm of terror.
