Lyon & Healy - Craftsmanship

Craftsmanship

Research and design teams work next to long-time harp craftsmen. This has allowed Lyon & Healy to mass-produce harps, that can be customized with special order features—such as carved columns, gold-leaf work, hand-painted sound boards, and other artistic inlays. The wood varies by instrument, but Sitka Spruce (Picea sitchensis) is the most common wood used for the soundboard.

Various Lyon & Healy guitars, mandolins, and many other types of instrument reside in major musical instrument museums in the U.S. and Europe.

Lyon and Healy primarily manufactures four types of harps. The level harp, petite pedal harp, semi-grande pedal harp, and concert grand harp. They also make limited numbers of "special harps", which are concert grands.
