Minor Characters
- Miranda Hampson (Lucy Hale) – She is Justin's girlfriend in two episodes of season one. She is a new kid in school "Pop Me and We Both Go Down" and starts dating Justin in that episode but in "First Kiss" which is before "Pop Me and We Both Go Down" she isn't new and is already dating Justin (this is due to episodes being broadcast out of order, as based on the production codes for both episodes, "First Kiss" comes immediately after "Pop Me and We Both Go Down"). She is hated by Harper (due to her crush on Justin) and dresses in a goth fashion. She likes the color black and hates corporate America and "cool guys". It is said once that she's the new girl, but it is also said that in fifth grade she passed a note to Matt saying she liked him. She was also mentioned in the second season. In one episode, his sister (Alex Russo) gets into a lot of trouble with her dad for trying to make Justin and Miranda's first kiss perfect because she uses a spell that is only used for emergencies. Her last name is revealed to be Hampson in "Pop Me and We Both Go Down".
- Mr. Stuffleby (Fred Willard) – The character first appears in the episode "Make it Happen". His job is to make sure that the Russo children who do not win the family wizard competition know how to earn a living after the loss of their powers. His face has an unusually large mouth. When asked, he reveals that his mother is one quarter gargoyle. As a result of this facial feature, he frequently swallows many bugs (which he does not mind, as he finds them tasty). The second time he appears is in the episode "Monster Hunter" after Justin casts his five thousandth spell, marking the end of his wizard training.
- T.J. Taylor (Daryl Sabara) – T.J. is another teenage wizard that attends Tribeca Prep with Alex, Justin, and Max. He was once friends with Alex until she took a charm off of his parents, which ended their friendship. He returned in season 2 when Alex takes another spell he cast off his ex-girlfriend Jenny Majorheely, who of which he turned into a 40-year-old woman. He does not appear in Season 3, possibly because he could have gotten expelled for what he did to the principal in Season 2 episode "Art Teacher", or it's possible he just left.
- Officer Lamp (Michael A. Shepperd) – Officer Lamp is a wizard police officer who partners with Officer Goblin. He says Max is a cute kid and that nobody can pronounce Goblin's name.
- Officer Goblin (Brian Scolaro) – Officer Goblin is an goblin/wizard police officer. He is married, but it is unknown if he has kids. His actual name is unknown as Officer Lamp says, "Nobody can pronounce that." He filed a complaint that puffing in with smoke causes health problems. In the season two episode "Harper Knows (A Wizard Outing)", he says he'll put a gold star in Alex's community service file if Alex helped at PopCon. He is once seen by Harper in that episode, so he pretends to be "Jeremy from Science".
- The Mummy (John Eric Bentley) – A mummy who kidnapped and bewitched Juliet to be his servant. He has an immense supernatural power, being able to hypnotize, levitate and make others intangible with his eye-beams, even if this person is behind a plasticine structure (and thus showing that all the supernatural beings has their own kind of magic that is distinct of human wizardry). When Justin, Alex, Max, and Mason track down Juliet, the Russos unwrap the Mummy's cloth and he turns into dust, leaving only his red glowing eyes (that no longer work).
- Conscience's Conscience (Adam Irigoyen) – He is Conscience's conscience when Conscience and Max get separated in Season 3 episode "Night at the Lazerama" and Conscience begins to develop his own conscience.
- Joey (Zack Shada) – Joey is in Dean's posse. He is the only who talks in the posse besides Dean. He seems to be Dean's right-hand man. He has all of Dean's (temporary) tattoos on his arm for inventory, except he doesn't have the unicorn. He complained when Dean gave Harper the unicorn first. He sometimes repeats what Dean says. In one episode, Alex reads Dean's mind and he says that he has to get Joey a date.
- Ronald Longcape Jr. (Chad Duell) – Ronald is an evil kid at WizTech and the main antagonist of the second season. He was a love interest for Alex in season two's "Saving WizTech", while Alex was still in a relationship with Dean. Ronald shape-shifted into Dean and broke up with Alex so he could convince Alex into coming to WizTech with him; he froze the real Dean inside gelatin. Ronald then used Alex as part of his evil plan, to become the most powerful evil wizard at WizTech. His plan was foiled by Alex's love for Dean.
- Ronald Longcape Sr. (Maurice Godin) – Ronald Longcape Sr. is Ronald Longcape Jr.'s father. He only pretends to be evil.
- Dr. Evilini (Octavia Spencer) – Dr. Evilini was an evil teacher at WizTech. She got Justin to participate in the 12-Ball tournament (a wizard's version of ping pong), which could tell who is the most powerful young wizard. Her plan was to suck Justin's powers away at Volcano Land and take them for herself. Alex then found out about the plan from Evilini's messenger fish. Evilini's plan was later revealed after Alex used a truth spell on her.
- Frankengirl/Frankie Stein (Perry Mattfeld) -Frankengirl is a female monster Justin created to guard his room from Alex in the season 3 episode "Franken Girl". Her brain is the motherboard from Justin's laptop, which Alex then shuts down. Justin later uses magic on Frankie into wanting to be Alex's friend, and Frankie gets Alex to join the cheer leading squad with her. She is based on Frankenstein's monster. She reappears in "Three Monsters", and was accidentally sent to monster prison along with one of Justin's robots.
- Megan Russo (Carrie Genzel) – Megan is the embittered aunt of Alex, Justin and Max, and sister of Jerry and Kelbo. She despises Jerry, because he opted to give his powers to Kelbo instead of her. She was introduced in "Retest" where the Russo's try to convince her to re-enter the wizard competition against her brothers; but her grudge against Jerry is ongoing and as a result she refuses to compete. Her personality is similar to Alex, as she is characterized as lazy, sarcastic, artistic and selfish. As punishment for her behavior, she is no longer considered a member of the Russo family. She lives in Paris, France and earns a living as an artist. Max thought she lived in Paris, Texas, so he teleported him, Alex and Justin there.
- Susan (Tiffany Thornton) – Susan is another one of Justin's academic friends. Alex grows fond of Zach (his name changed to Zeke later on)and Susan and tries to be their friend, making Justin jealous because he was friends with them first. When Susan invites Alex to watch a movie with them, Alex finds out that she is under the age restriction and uses magic to get into the movie, literally.
- MacGruder (Michael Monken) – MacGruder is a popular kid at Tribeca Prep who gets everyone to do what he does. He appeared in the episodes "Dude Looks like Shakira" and "Dad's Buggin' Out". And, he is famous for his catchphrases "MacGruder in!" and "MacGruder out."
- Nancy Lukey (Bella Thorne) – Nancy was Max's girlfriend for a short period of time, but she broke up with him when he had to tell her he was lying about him being a wizard (even though he wasn't, he just had to protect his secret.), and she thought he was making a fool of her on purpose in front of the Russo's.
- Warren Nichols (Richard Chiu) – Warren is Stevie's brother whom she left in the middle of the power-transfer ceremony after he'd won their family wizard competition. Stevie mentions how despite their frequent arguments, and pranks she pulled on him, that they genuinely cared about each other. However, Stevie also tells Alex this is what led to them never talking again, as in concern about Alex having a similar relationship with Justin, hoping the same thing doesn't happen to them. Warren also appears to have a fainting problem, as he is often seen passing out in "The Good, The Bad, and the Alex," where he later got his full powers from Stevie after Alex froze her into a gray colored ice.
- Alfred (Andy Pessoa) – Alfred is Max's best friend. He was only in two episodes of season 2 and that was Smarty Pants and Beware Wolf. He is shown to be much smarter than Max, and is also similar to the character William in That's So Raven.

Famous quotes containing the words minor and/or characters:
“If, for instance, they have heard something from the postman, they attribute it to a semi-official statement; if they have fallen into conversation with a stranger at a bar, they can conscientiously describe him as a source that has hitherto proved unimpeachable. It is only when the journalist is reporting a whim of his own, and one to which he attaches minor importance, that he defines it as the opinion of well-informed circles.”
—Evelyn Waugh (19031966)
“The major men
That is different. They are characters beyond
Reality, composed thereof. They are
The fictive man created out of men.
They are men but artificial men.”
—Wallace Stevens (18791955)
