List Of Sydney Suburbs
This is a complete listing of the 656 suburbs and localities in the greater Sydney area in alphabetical order. Sydney has about 38 local government areas, each consisting of several suburbs (suburbs in Australia are purely geographical, not political, divisions). See table below, Category:Suburbs of Sydney and Category:Local Government Areas in Sydney.
Suburbs are listed here if they are inside the Sydney metro area, and are listed in the Geographical Names Register as being suburbs. For this list, the boundaries of the Sydney metro area are defined as the Hawkesbury/Nepean River in the north/north west, and then the outer boundaries of the City of Penrith, Camden Council, the City of Campbelltown and Sutherland Shire and Wallendbeen. Some but not all Sydney localities are also listed, and localities are shown in italics to differentiate them from suburbs. Further localities may be added if they are on the Geographical Names Register, are inside the Sydney metro area, and are also listed in the "Suburb and Localities Index" of the most recent (2006) edition of the Sydney UBD Street Directory.

Famous quotes containing the words list of, list and/or suburbs:
“Do your children view themselves as successes or failures? Are they being encouraged to be inquisitive or passive? Are they afraid to challenge authority and to question assumptions? Do they feel comfortable adapting to change? Are they easily discouraged if they cannot arrive at a solution to a problem? The answers to those questions will give you a better appraisal of their education than any list of courses, grades, or test scores.”
—Lawrence Kutner (20th century)
“Loves boat has been shattered against the life of everyday. You and I are quits, and its useless to draw up a list of mutual hurts, sorrows, and pains.”
—Vladimir Mayakovsky (18931930)
“Everywhereall over Africa and South America ... you see these suburbs springing up. They represent the optimum of what people want. Theres a certain sort of logic leading towards these immaculate suburbs. And theyre terrifying, because they are the death of the soul.... This is the prison this planet is being turned into.”
—J.G. (James Graham)
