Health Effects

When the skin is exposed to ultraviolet light after lime juice contact, a reaction known as phytophotodermatitis can occur, which can cause darkening of the skin, swelling or blistering. The agent responsible for this is psoralen.

Famous quotes containing the words health and/or effects:

    Youth no less becomes
The light and careless livery that it wears
Than settled age his sables and his weeds,
    Importing health and graveness.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

Society’s double behavioral standard for women and for men is, in fact, a more effective deterrent than economic discrimination because it is more insidious, less tangible. Economic disadvantages involve ascertainable amounts, but the very nature of societal value judgments makes them harder to define, their effects harder to relate.
    Anne Tucker (b. 1945)
