Laurie Thompson, born 1938, is a British academic and translator, born in York, England, and lived in northern Sweden for a few years, noted for his translations of Swedish literature into English. He is the former editor (1983–2002) of the Swedish Book Review, and former lecturer at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and the University of Wales, Lampeter.
