Death
In the early hours of 15 June 2003, Sadler fell 40 feet (12 metres) from the balcony of the Holland Park flat of her boyfriend and Holby City co-star George Calil. She had consumed a large quantity of alcohol and was later found to have had "derivatives of cocaine and traces of diazepam" in her blood. Sadler suffered severe head injuries and never regained consciousness. Her family decided to take her off life support on 18 June 2003 and she died at Charing Cross Hospital a day later. Calil was questioned by police, but later released on bail and never charged. Sadler's death was ruled as an accident.
Sadler continued to feature in pre-recorded episodes of Holby City after her death. Her mother aided the show's writers in conceiving an exit storyline for Sadler's character Sandy Harper. In the episode, which was broadcast in September 2003, Sandy is revealed to have won the lottery and subsequently emigrated to Australia.

Famous quotes containing the word death:
“Within the hollow crown
That rounds the mortal temples of a king
Keeps Death his court, and there the antic sits,
Scoffing his state and mocking at his pomp,
Allowing him a breath, a little scene,
To monarchize, be feared, and kill with looks.”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
“Sin their conception, their birth weeping,
Their life a general mist of error,
Their death a hideous storm of terror.”
—John Webster (c. 15801638)
“Bruno Antony: Tell me, Judge, after youve sentenced a man to the chair, isnt it difficult to go out and eat your dinner after that?
Judge Dolan: When a murderer is caught he must be tried, when he is convicted he must be sentenced, when he is sentenced to death he must be executed.
Bruno Antony: Quite impersonal, isnt it?
Judge Dolan: So it is. Besides, it doesnt happen every day.
Bruno Antony: So, few murderers are caught?”
—Raymond Chandler (18881959)
