By Christmas of 1984, the band split at the end of a national tour, with Kuepper finishing the album early in 1985. A posthumous single, the double A side "Just Because I Like/Crystal Clear" was also released via Hot.

Famous quotes containing the words ghosts of, ghosts, ideal and/or wife:

    We find that even the parents who justify spanking to themselves are defensive and embarrassed about it....I suspect that deep in the memory of every parent are the feelings that had attended his own childhood spankings, the feelings of humiliation, of helplessness, of submission through fear. The parent who finds himself spanking his own child cannot dispel the ghosts of his own childhood.
    Selma H. Fraiberg (20th century)

    the ghosts of the tribe
    Crouch in the nights beside the ghost of a fire, they try to
    remember the sunlight,
    Light has died out of their skies.
    Robinson Jeffers (1887–1962)

    Some day the soft Ideal that we wooed
    Confronts us fiercely, foe-beset, pursued,
    And cries reproachful: “Was it then my praise,
    And not myself was loved? Prove now thy truth;
    I claim of thee the promise of thy youth.”
    James Russell Lowell (1819–1891)

    Of course, the comic figure in all this is the long-suffering Mr. Wilkes. Mr. Wilkes—who can’t be mentally faithful to his wife and won’t be unfaithful to her technically.
    Sidney Howard (1891–1939)
