Born to a Belgian father and a Sicilian mother in Etterbeek, Belgium, Fabian spent her first five years in her mother's hometown of Catania in Sicily, before moving back to Brussels, Belgium. She began singing, dancing and taking piano lessons at a young age, and began formal music lessons at age eight. She began writing and performing her own songs during her ten years of formal music study. Famous quotes containing the words early and/or life:

    In early times every sort of advantage tends to become a military advantage; such is the best way, then, to keep it alive. But the Jewish advantage never did so; beginning in religion, contrary to a thousand analogies, it remained religious. For that we care for them; from that have issued endless consequences.
    Walter Bagehot (1826–1877)

    “From those constellations turn
    Your eyes, and sleep; for every man
    Is living; and for peace upon
    His life should rest;
    This must everybody learn
    For mutual happiness; that trust
    Alone is best.”
    Philip Larkin (1922–1986)
