- Lake Park, the largest artificial lake in South Korea, in the city of Goyang
Total area of the lake park is 10,340,000㎡, and the area of the lake is 3,000,000㎡. This park has the biggest artificial lake among Asian countries. It consists of a lot of environmental elements such as water, trees, and flowers in the city where people do not have a chance to be round the nature. The park opened in May. 4th. 1996. This became one of the most famous places to relax in Goyangsi. Therefore, Not only people who live around the city, but also people from the different areas come to the lake park for relaxation. The beautiful sceneries around the lake are also used as places for the recreation. There are over 100 kinds of wild flowers and 200,000 kinds of trees in the lake park. Other than landscapes, many theme areas are equipped for people to relax and enjoy such as grass square, artificial island, medicinal herb island, stage, boating place, bicycle routes, botanical garden, artificial waterfall, playground, etc. The center of the park has water fall which spouts water about 10 m out during the summer. There are many activities that people can join and watch such as skateboarding and rollerskating. Also, this park is really nice place for the bicycling during the summer time. Indeed, this park is a well known place for flower exhibitions.
