Korean Liberation Army - Post War

Post War

The members of the KLA returned to Korea during late 1945 and 1946. Many of its members, including Generals Ji and Lee, were to become part of the South Korean government, while General Kim contributed to the North Korean regime of Kim Il-sung, who himself claimed to have been a KLA commander.

There has been a movement in South Korea for years to change the National Armed Forces Day from October 1 to September 17, in honor of the foundation of the Korean Liberation Army in 1941.

Famous quotes containing the words post and/or war:

    Fear death?—to feel the fog in my throat,
    The mist in my face,
    When the snows begin, and the blasts denote
    I am nearing the place,
    The power of the night, the press of the storm,
    The post of the foe;
    Where he stands, the Arch Fear in a visible form,
    Yet the strong man must go:
    Robert Browning (1812–1889)

    This is a war universe. War all the time. That is its nature. There may be other universes based on all sorts of other principles, but ours seems to be based on war and games.
    William Burroughs (b. 1914)
