News Operation

On October 10, 2011, KMIZ launched the market’s first prime access newscast at 6:30 p.m. and became the second station in the Columbia-Jefferson City market to offer all local newscasts, syndicated programming and commercials in high definition.

With the debut of its high definition newscasts and the market's only 6:30 p.m. newscast, KMIZ now offers four hours of local news every weekday. It also broadcasts a half-hour newscast on its sister station, KQFX-LD, every night at 9 p.m..

Famous quotes containing the words news and/or operation:

How can one explain all the time and thought that goes into raising a child, all the opportunities for mistakes, all the chances to recover and try again? How does one break the news that nothing permanent can be formed in an instant—children are not weaned, potty trained, taught manners, introduced to civilization in one or two tries—as everyone imagined.
    Mary Kay Blakely (20th century)

It requires a surgical operation to get a joke well into a Scotch understanding. The only idea of wit, or rather that inferior variety of the electric talent which prevails occasionally in the North, and which, under the name of “Wut,” is so infinitely distressing to people of good taste, is laughing immoderately at stated intervals.
    Sydney Smith (1771–1845)
