King College - Spiritual Life

Spiritual Life

Students have many opportunities to explore Christian beliefs and spiritual traditions. Opportunities abound with chapel, the Buechner Institute, Christian ministry groups, and service projects. Each year, student teams also travel nationally and internationally for a range of missions and study trips.

All traditional King students are required to obtain fourteen chapel, convocation, or community service credit hours per semester.

Famous quotes containing the words spiritual and/or life:

Medication alone is not to be relied on. In one half the cases medicine is not needed, or is worse than useless. Obedience to spiritual and physical laws—hygeine [sic] of the body, and hygeine of the spirit—is the surest warrant for health and happiness.
    Harriot K. Hunt (1805–1875)

To quarrel with the uncertainty that besets us in intellectual affairs would be about as reasonable as to object to live one’s life with due thought for the morrow because no man can be sure he will alive an hour hence.
    Thomas Henry Huxley (1825–95)
