King C. Gillette - Death

Death

Gillette died in Los Angeles, California, and was interred in the lower levels of the Begonia Corridor in the Great Mausoleum located at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Glendale, California. He was almost bankrupt at the time of his death, due both to his having spent large amounts of money on property, and to his having lost much of the value of his corporate shares as a result of the Great Depression.

Famous quotes containing the word death:

Could any death be so horrible as birth? Or any decrepitude so awful as childhood in a happy united God-fearing family?
    Samuel Butler (1835–1902)

It is a sign of creeping inner death when we can no longer praise the living.
    Eric Hoffer (1902–1983)

There is something antique, even, in his style of treating his subject, reminding us that Heroes and Demi-gods, Fates and Furies, still exist; the common man is nothing to him, but after death the hero is apotheosized and has a place in heaven, as in the religion of the Greeks.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
