Kim Yushin - Family

Family

Kim Yusin had two sisters, Kim Bohee and Kim Munhee (Hangul: 김문희, Hanja: 金文姬). Kim Munhee, later known as Queen Munmyeong (Hangul: 문명왕후, Hanja: 文明王后), married Yusin's childhood friend King Muyeool of Silla, who is credited for having led the unification of the Korean peninsula under Silla. Muyeol and Munmyeong were the parents of King Munmu of Silla and Kim Inmun.

Kim Yushin's wife, Lady Jiso (智炤夫人), was the third daughter of King Muyeol of Silla. Yushin had ten children. His second son, Kim Wonsul, would later play a central role in completing the independence of Silla from the Tang Dynasty.

Famous quotes containing the word family:

When one family builds a wall, two families benefit from it.
    Chinese proverb.

Nobody has ever before asked the nuclear family to live all by itself in a box the way we do. With no relatives, no support, we’ve put it in an impossible situation.
    Margaret Mead (1901–1978)

Every family should extend First Amendment rights to all its members, but this freedom is particularly essential for our kids. Children must be able to say what they think, openly express their feelings, and ask for what they want and need if they are ever able to develop an integrated sense of self. They must be able to think their own thoughts, even if they differ from ours. They need to have the opportunity to ask us questions when they don’t understand what we mean.
    Stephanie Martson (20th century)
