Confirmed Exoplanets
See also: List of planets discovered by the Kepler spacecraft, list of exoplanetary host stars, and list of planetary systemsIn addition to discovering hundreds of exoplanet candidates, the Kepler spacecraft has also reported 26 exoplanets in 11 systems which have not yet been added to the Extrasolar Planet Database. Exoplanets discovered using Kepler's data, but confirmed by outside researchers, include KOI-423b, KOI-428b, KOI-196b, KOI-135b, KOI-204b, KOI-254b, KOI-730, and Kepler-42 (KOI-961). The "KOI" acronym indicates that the star is a Kepler Object of Interest.
Both Corot and Kepler measured the reflected light from planets. However, these planets were already known, since they transit their host star. Kepler's data allowed the first discovery of planets by this method, KOI 55.01 and 55.02.

Famous quotes containing the word confirmed:
“He prayed more deeply for simple selflessness than he had ever prayed beforeand, feeling an uprush of grace in the very intention, shed the night in his heart and called it light. And walking out of the little church he felt confirmed in not only the worth of his whispered prayer but in the realization, as well, that Christ had become man and not some bell-shaped Corinthian column with volutes for veins and a mandala of stone foliage for a heart.”
—Alexander Theroux (b. 1940)
