Kenny Richey - Subsequent Criminal Charges

Subsequent Criminal Charges

Richey has been arrested several times since he returned to the UK. Most seriously, he was charged with assaulting and robbing 63-year-old Robert McCall at his Edinburgh apartment on July 11, 2008, and another assault six days later. He faced trial in March 2009. However, the judge presiding over the case dismissed the charges explaining that he felt Richey "...had suffered enough." At one point, he was charged with stealing a woman's purse. The charge was later dropped. More recently, he was arrested for assaulting his son with a baseball bat in Minnesota.

Famous quotes containing the words subsequent, criminal and/or charges:

Reading ... is an activity subsequent to writing: more resigned, more civil, more intellectual.
    Jorge Luis Borges (1899–1986)

Think of admitting the details of a single case of the criminal court into our thoughts, to stalk profanely through their very sanctum sanctorum for an hour, ay, for many hours! to make a very barroom of the mind’s inmost apartment, as if for so long the dust of the street had occupied us,—the very street itself, with all its travel, its bustle, and filth, had passed through our thoughts’ shrine! Would it not be an intellectual and moral suicide?
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

I have never injured anybody with a mordant poem; my
verse contains charges against nobody. Ingenuous, I have
shunned wit steeped in venom—not a letter of mine is dipped
    in poisonous jest.
    Ovid (Publius Ovidius Naso)
