Kennedy Town (Chinese: 堅尼地城; pinyin: jiānnídì chéng; jyutping: gin1 nei4 dei6 seng4) is at the western end of Sai Wan on Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong. It was named after Arthur Edward Kennedy, the 7th Governor of Hong Kong from 1872 to 1877. Administratively, it is part of Central and Western District.
Due to its distance to major commercial cores and lack of MTR access, town development is not as vigorous as other parts of urban Hong Kong; this is expected to change when the MTR extends to the area.

Famous quotes containing the words kennedy and/or town:
“I met Jack Kennedy in November, 1946.... We went out on a double date and it turned out to be a fair evening for me. I seduced a girl who would have been bored by a diamond as big as the Ritz.”
—Norman Mailer (b. 1923)
“Let no one think that I do not love the old ministers. They were, probably, the best men in their generation, and they deserve that their biographies should fill the pages of the town histories. If I could but hear the “glad tidings” of which they tell, and which, perchance, they heard, I might write in a worthier strain than this.”
—Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
