Kenley Railway Station - Station Access

Station Access

The platforms are below road level, with the brick ticket office (open for most of the day until late evening) on the up side along with a self-service ticket machine. A second self-service ticket machine is located outside the entrance to Platform 2. The station is staffed from the first train of the morning until the last train in the early hours of the following morning.

Two-way stairs through the booking hall entrance enable access to the up platform (Platform 1), as well as a fully accessible side-entrance ramp. Step-free access is available to the down platform (Platform 2) via the car park entrance on Station Road/Hayes Lane, as well as access via the footbridge from Platform 1.

Platform transfers are made available via the station footbridge however no step-free access is available for this without walking around the station.

The booking hall is fairly accessible with only a single step on the main entrance from Kenley Lane.

Staff are available for assistance with boarding and alighting trains at this station.

Famous quotes containing the words station and/or access:

With boys you always know where you stand. Right in the path of a hurricane. It’s all there. The fruit flies hovering over their waste can, the hamster trying to escape to cleaner air, the bedrooms decorated in Early Bus Station Restroom.
    Erma Bombeck (20th century)

Knowledge in the form of an informational commodity indispensable to productive power is already, and will continue to be, a major—perhaps the major—stake in the worldwide competition for power. It is conceivable that the nation-states will one day fight for control of information, just as they battled in the past for control over territory, and afterwards for control over access to and exploitation of raw materials and cheap labor.
    Jean François Lyotard (b. 1924)
