Portrayal in Fiction
In the Metalocalypse episode "Dethfashion", the clothing designer Eric Von Wiechlinghammer is an obvious parody of Karl Lagerfeld and his views on the appropriate look for models.
It has been widely speculated that a character from the TV show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (named Hoity Toity) is based on Lagerfeld due to sharing a strong resemblance to him (white bouffant hairstyle, dark glasses, ascots and a fan shaped cutie mark) as well as his portrayal as a snobby fashion designer. Ironically enough, German artist Mari Kasurinen created a My Little Pony doll based on Lagerfeld's likeness

Famous quotes containing the words portrayal and/or fiction:
“From the oyster to the eagle, from the swine to the tiger, all animals are to be found in men and each of them exists in some man, sometimes several at the time. Animals are nothing but the portrayal of our virtues and vices made manifest to our eyes, the visible reflections of our souls. God displays them to us to give us food for thought.”
—Victor Hugo (18021885)
“Americans will listen, but they do not care to read. War and Peace must wait for the leisure of retirement, which never really comes: meanwhile it helps to furnish the living room. Blockbusting fiction is bought as furniture. Unread, it maintains its value. Read, it looks like money wasted. Cunningly, Americans know that books contain a person, and they want the person, not the book.”
—Anthony Burgess (b. 1917)
