Viswanath was born on 19 Feb, 1930 to Sri Kasinathuni Subrahmanyam and Smt Kasinathuni Saraswatamma in a Telugu speaking Niyogi family and hails from Peddapulivarru, near Repalle in Andhra Pradesh, India.
