Both the Kulleet and the Klatawa are owned and operated by Metro Vancouver's Transportation Authority, Translink, and up until July 31, 2009, they ran the Albion ↔ Fort Langley route on the Fraser River, between the Maple Ridge suburb of Albion on the North, to McMillan Island in Fort Langley, to the south.

The two Albion ferries have been sold for $400.000 less than half the original asking price of $1.1 million, TransLink has confirmed. The regional transportation authority said in a news release today (December 30, 2011) that the MV Kulleet and MV Klatawa have been bought for $400,000 by Tidal Towing, a B.C.-based company.

"TransLink had considered selling the boats as scrap if they were threatening to become an environmental or economic liability; however, that point had not yet been reached," the release states. In July 2009, the Albion ferry shut down after the opening of the Golden Ears Bridge. The ferry had connected Maple Ridge and Langley via the Fraser River since 1957. The Kulleet and Klatawa were put into service in the 1980s.
