Family
A few days after his arrival at Agen he fell in love with an orphan of thirteen, Andiette de Roques Lobejac. Her friends objected to her marriage with an unknown adventurer, but in 1528 he had obtained so much success as a physician that the objections of her family were overcome, and at forty-five he married Andiette, who was then sixteen. Famous quotes containing the word family:
“Being in a family is like being in a play. Each birth order position is like a different part in a play, with distinct and separate characteristics for each part. Therefore, if one sibling has already filled a part, such as the good child, other siblings may feel they have to find other parts to play, such as rebellious child, academic child, athletic child, social child, and so on.”
—Jane Nelson (20th century)
“If you understand why a monkey in a family is always mocked and harassed, you understand why monks are rejected by allboth old and young.”
—François Rabelais (14941553)
“Every family has one passage of scripture they stumble over.”
—Chinese proverb.
