Juazeiro

Juazeiro is a city and municipality in eastern Brazil in the state of Bahia (9°25′S 40°30′W / 9.42°S 40.50°W / -9.42; -40.50). It had a population of 260,004, according to the 2010 census, and an area of 6,415.4 km². The population density was 31.34 hab/km² (2000). The elevation is 373 meters. It became a city in 1833.
