Legacy
Freinademetz, together with Arnold Janssen, the founder of his Society, were canonized on October 5, 2003 by Pope John Paul II, as was Daniel Comboni, the founder of the Comboni Missionaries, which works in Africa.
Under his patronage is the St. Joseph Freinademetz German National Parish in Beijing is a parish for German-speaking residents and visitors.
