Famous quotes containing the word life:
“... there has been a very special man in my life for the past year. All Ill say about him is that hes kind, warm, mature, someone I can trustand hes not a politician.”
—Donna Rice (b. c. 1962)
“If it is the mark of the artist to love art before everything, to renounce everything for its sake, to think all the sweet human things of life well lost if only he may attain something, do some good, great workthen I was never an artist.”
—Ellen Terry (18471928)
“If I had my life over again I should form the habit of nightly composing myself to thoughts of death. I would practise, as it were, the remembrance of death. There is no other practice which so intensifies life. Death, when it approaches, ought not to take one by surprise. It should be part of the full expectancy of life. Without an ever- present sense of death life is insipid. You might as well live on the whites of eggs.”
—Muriel Spark (b. 1918)
