Job's Daughters International

Job's Daughters International is a Masonic-sponsored youth organization for girls and young women aged 10 to 20. The organization is commonly referred to as simply Job's Daughters, and sometimes abbreviated as JDI (or IOJD, referring to its longtime former name, International Order Of Job's Daughters). Job's Daughters welcomes many religions and cultures.

The individual chapter is called a Bethel (as is the meeting location), and each is numbered sequentially, according to when they were instituted in their jurisdiction. They usually meet at a Masonic Lodge building.

Famous quotes containing the words job and/or daughters:

Because it shut not up the doors of my mother’s womb, nor hid
    sorrow from mine eyes.
Why died I not from the womb?
—Bible: Hebrew Job (l. III, 10–11)

Because relationships are a primary source of self-esteem for girls and women, daughters need to know they will not lose our love if they speak up for what they want to tell us how they feel about things. . . . Teaching girls to make specific requests, rather than being indirect and agreeable, will help them avoid the pitfalls of having to be manipulative and calculating to get what they want.
