Campaigns
Jin Dajian is placed in charge of carving official seals and other miscellaneous affairs after the Grand Assembly. He follows the heroes on their campaigns against the Liao invaders and rebel forces after they have been granted amnesty by the emperor.
During the Wang Qing campaign, Jin Dajian, Xiao Rang and Pei Xuan sneak into the enemy city of Jingnan to conduct an espionage mission but they are captured by the enemy general Liang Yong. They refuse to surrender despite being subjected to torture. Eventually, Liang Yong's subordinate turns on him and kills him and releases the heroes.
On the eve of the last Fang La campaign, Jin Dajian is summoned back to the capital city by the emperor and does not participate in the campaign. He remains in the capital and continues to serve the emperor as an imperial craftsman for the rest of his days.

Famous quotes containing the word campaigns:
“That food has always been, and will continue to be, the basis for one of our greater snobbisms does not explain the fact that the attitude toward the food choice of others is becoming more and more heatedly exclusive until it may well turn into one of those forms of bigotry against which gallant little committees are constantly planning campaigns in the cause of justice and decency.”
—Cornelia Otis Skinner (19011979)
