Jim Gerlach - U.S. House of Representatives

U.S. House of Representatives

Gerlach was first elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2002 from the newly created 6th District, sometimes called the "Pterodactyl District" because of its unusual shape. Although the district was reportedly drawn to elect a Republican, he has had a somewhat difficult time holding onto it in elections, largely due to the growing Democratic trend in the Philadelphia suburbs.

Famous quotes containing the word house:

    Ah, yet, ere I descend to the grave,
    May I a small house and large garden have;
    And a few friends, and many books, both true,
    Both wise, and both delightful too!
    And since love ne’er will from me flee,
    A mistress moderately fair,
    And good as guardian angels are,
    Only beloved and loving me.
    Abraham Cowley (1618–1667)
