Background
Gantner grew up in Eden, Wisconsin, and attended Campbellsport High School in nearby Campbellsport, Wisconsin. He played his college baseball at the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, where he was enshrined into the Titans' Hall of Fame in 1984.
