Alternate Purposes
Jet trainers are often adapted to other purposes, and many dedicated jet trainers are designed with non-training features from the design stage. For instance, the Cessna T-37 was developed into the A-37 Dragonfly, while the P-80 Shooting Star jet fighter was adapted to become the T-33 Shooting Star jet trainer. Naval jet trainers can also be adapted from existing designs, for example the T-45 Goshawk is a fully carrier-capable version of the Hawk Mk.60.

Famous quotes containing the words alternate and/or purposes:
“It might become a wheel spoked red and white
In alternate stripes converging at a point
Of flame on the line, with a second wheel below,
Just rising, accompanying, arranged to cross,
Through weltering illuminations, humps
Of billows, downward, toward the drift-fire shore.”
—Wallace Stevens (18791955)
“One of the baffling things about life is that the purposes of institutions may be ideal, while their administration, dependent upon the faults and weaknesses of human beings, may be bad.”
—Mary Barnett Gilson (1877?)
