Use By Protestants
In addition to Roman Catholics, many Christians of the Protestant Churches have also begun to use the Jesus Prayer. Primarily used among mainline Protestants, the Jesus Prayer is often used as a centering prayer or contemplative prayer. It is sometimes used by a variety of Protestants with the Anglican Rosary. Its structure and content also bears a strong resemblance to the "Sinner's Prayer" used by many Evangelical Protestant Christians.

Famous quotes containing the word protestants:
“Catholics think of grace as a supernatural power which God dispenses, primarily through the Church and its sacraments, to purify the souls of naturally sinful human beings, and render them capable of holiness.... Protestants think of grace as an attribute of God rather than a gift from God. It is a shorthand term signifying Gods determination to love, forgive, and save His human children, however little they deserve it.”
