As A Movie Composer
By the late 1970s, Frederick had changed his beat to movie and TV score composing. He performed the lead vocal duties for the main character in the 1980 Taylor Hackford film The Idolmaker. A single from the picture's soundtrack, "Here Is My Love", was released in both stereo and mono formats. That same year, Frederick played Alice Cooper's roadie in the film Roadie. In 1982, Frederick composed the score for the Troma motion picture The Fanatic (aka The Last Horror Film). Many more major theatrical titles would follow, including that of Garry Marshall's 1984 hit The Flamingo Kid.

Famous quotes containing the words movie and/or composer:
“The talk shows are stuffed full of sufferers who have regained their healthcongressmen who suffered through a serious spell of boozing and skirt-chasing, White House aides who were stricken cruelly with overweening ambition, movie stars and baseball players who came down with acute cases of wanting to trash hotel rooms while under the influence of recreational drugs. Most of them have found God, or at least a publisher.”
—Calvin Trillin (b. 1935)
“Whenever [Leonard Bernstein] entered or exited a country he would fill in on his passport form not composer or conductor, but musician. Of course people in the press spent a lot of Lennys life telling him what he should have done; he should have been a concert pianist, he should have composed more.... And people wouldnt let him live his own life. But he created his own career, in his own image.”
—John Mauceri (b. 1945)
